How much does this class cost?
A payment for this class of no more than $400 will come from your personal Tuition Reimbursement account for 2012. You will not be required to pay up front for this course. Your Tuition Reimbursement account will be charged once you have completed the class. If you have exhausted your annual benefit the Trust will pay for the course. How do I enroll?
We are no longer taking enrollments. Class is full.
What happens after I complete the online MJC admission application?
You must then send an email to the MJC Program Administrator (gallardon@mjc.edu) stating you have submitted the online application, include your full name and 6 digit Electronic Application ID number. You will receive a reply email with required forms for you to complete and return to allow class enrollment.
This is an online class. What kind of computer skills do I need to be successful?
You need Internet access (preferably high speed) with a common Internet browser such as Internet Explorer. We suggest a skill level of an advanced beginner, so you are able to navigate through web browsers and operate basic functions such as copy, paste and save documents. Online classes can be isolating. Students will be able to participate in online chat with your instructor, tutor and classmates.
What are the tutor support services available and how do I use them?
Ways to access the tutor support services will be explained at the Class Orientation.
This is a "self-paced" class with scheduled exam deadlines. What does that mean?
There will be scheduled quizzes, a midterm and final with set deadlines. There is flexibility on a weekly basis for self-pacing between the tests and for learning the material at your own speed.
How many hours a week should I expect to spend "in class" and studying?
How much time it takes to move through a module will depend on your comfort and speed in navigating the online material, including your reading and comprehension speed. There is also a weekly open book quiz, but the more familiar you are with that week's topics, the less time it will take. You can expect to spend a minimum of 4.5 hours a week on the module and necessary study, but some students will require more time to master the material.
Can I use my Education Leave for this class?
Talk with your department manager and union steward about how you could best use some of your Education Leave for this class.
What are my responsibilities?
Training slots are limited for this class. Please sign up only if you are committed to take the class. You must be able to attend the Class Orientation. If you receive less than a C- (a passing grade), you will not be eligible for other Ben Hudnall Memorial Trust Training programs for one year.
